About Us

Nelsen's Auto Tech Center is proud to continue to serve Northern Colorado.  Nelsen's was founded in 1947 by Dale Nelsen.  Dale moved from Lincoln, Nebraska along with his father, Louis.  He opened Nelsen's Auto Electric in the back of his father's service station.  The original building that Louis and Dale worked out of is right next door to our current location; it is currently occupied by a tire business.

In 1958, Dale left his father's service station and built the eastern half of our current building.  Then in 1981, the western portion of our building was added on to make what we have today.

Dale passed away in 1996 which is when Ken and Debbie Moore (Dale's Daughter) decided to purchase the business from the family.  Ken worked at the shop since 1967 (except for an eight year stint when he was and Electronics Technician in the U.S. Navy.)  Debbie started working at Nelsen's in 1980. Today she is still with the shop as the bookkeeper. (NEXT PAGE)
