Nelsen's Auto Tech Center is proud to continue to serve Northern Colorado. Nelsen's was founded in 1947 by Dale Nelsen. Dale moved from Lincoln, Nebraska, along with his father, Louis. He opened Nelsen's Auto Electric in the back of his father's service station.

In 1958, Dale left his father's service station and built the eastern half of our current building. Then, in 1981, the western portion of our building was added to make what we have today.

Dale passed away in 1996, and Ken and Debbie Moore (Dale's daughter) decided to purchase the business from the family. Ken has worked at the shop since 1967 (except for an eight-year stint as an electronics technician in the U.S. Navy). Debbie started working at Nelsen's in 1980. Today, she is still with the shop as the bookkeeper.

It was a chance meeting that put the ball in motion for the transfer of Nelsen's Auto Tech Center in 2006. Ken and Debbie decided to sell the business, while Wade Corners and Amy Reader were looking to start a shop of their own. It was a chance meeting one weekend outside a local store that resulted in the September 2006 ownership change. Wade and Amy became the proud owners of the shop and chose to keep the business running exactly the way it had been for years.

The overall goal for Nelsen's is to continue to offer our customers the same friendly and honest service Dale and the Moores provided for years. Wade and Amy had both worked for Nelsen's in the past and, at that time, became part of the family. The values and business approach are similar to the family-owned and operated model that has been in place for years.

Nelsen's will continue to treat all of our customers with the dignity and respect they deserve. Striving to improve our services is important, and the staff at Nelsen's Auto always welcomes comments and suggestions.
